FROM SPAIN WITH A STORY TO TELL

Before he became known to golfers around the world as Manolo, he was a student living abroad in Spain. In 2004, while studying and playing rugby in Valladolid, he experienced a year that would change his life forever. During that time, a teammate and lifelong friend named Oscar, owner of one of the best restaurants in town, introduced him to a part of Spanish culture that would stay with him for decades. Oscar told him, “Teach me English, and I will teach you wine.” What began as a friendship became a lifelong appreciation for the people, traditions, food, and wines of Spain.

WHO IS MANOLO?

Known through Manolo Teaches Golf, Manolo has built a loyal following by bringing humor, energy, and authenticity back to the game of golf. His videos, catchphrases, and unmistakable personality have made him one of golf’s most recognizable voices, reminding players everywhere that golf should be enjoyed, not taken too seriously. Behind the laughs is a genuine passion for sharing experiences, creating connections, and bringing people together. That same philosophy inspired Manolo Toro.

THE VINEYARD

At Hacienda Terra d’Uro, wine begins in ancient pre-phylloxera vineyards rooted in Spain’s Toro region for more than 150 years. Founded by Oscar Garrote, Cristiano Van Zeller, and Javier “Pipa” Ortega, the estate combines organic farming, traditional methods, and deep respect for the land to create wines of concentration, balance, and mineral depth.

THE WINE

Manolo Toro is crafted from organically farmed old-vine Tinta de Toro vineyards in Spain’s historic Toro region. Many of these bush-trained vines are more than 100 years old, including rare pre-phylloxera parcels that produce naturally low yields and exceptionally concentrated fruit. The wine is hand-harvested, carefully selected, aged in French oak, and produced in limited quantities to preserve the character of both the vineyard and vintage. It is powerful yet refined, bold yet elegant, and a true reflection of Toro.
